Sunday night’s Super Blood Wolf Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse was an exhilarating event for many. In spite of the bitter cold and howling winds that met gazers and photographers around the world, it offered an opportunity for pros and amateurs alike to revel in the wonders of nature and to create their own masterpieces in lunar photography. Many of us had never seen a deep amber moon, high in the sky, fighting the darkness of the shadow that slowly swept over it, engulfed it, but could not extinguish its warm glow.
We had a couple of diaries last night at www.dailykos.com/… and www.dailykos.com/… that followed the lunar eclipse and gave a chance for members of our community to post their own masterpieces and commentary. Here is a collection of some of the best images posted on twitter. All credit of course goes to the original photographers.

And here is this famous painting of the total solar eclipse of 2017 as seen from the moon, made in 1989.
And a quick reminder that the trump shutdown is causing tremendous damage to science and scientists, the effects of which will be felt for years and decades to come. Let’s keep raising some noise over it.
Please feel free to post your pictures and your discoveries from the web, which you want to share.
