Hot off the presses from Politico (via Senator Harris’s national press secretary Ian Sams):
Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign raised $1.5 million in its first 24 hours, her campaign aides told POLITICO, a massive haul for the first-term senator from California that tied Bernie Sanders’ one-day total from his 2016 presidential campaign.

Harris, who announced her candidacy on Monday, crossed the $1 million threshold before 7:30 p.m. and raised $1.5 million from 38,000 donors, her aides said
An average contribution of $37! #KamalaForThePeople has certainly resonated with Democratic primary voters, as the people are the ones fueling these small contributions!
Senator Harris has galvanized voters like no candidate declared so far! Her quick 1 minute announcement video reached 3.75 million views on Twitter as of 2:15pm EST. And the tweet itself has been retweeted 57,800+ times, and liked 191,000+ times.
We have many fine candidates to choose from in our Democratic Primary. But I’m with Senator Harris because I think she hits the mark on the most metrics needed for victory in 2020. And I think she would advocate great policy as well. As the campaign heats up, I will make sure to update on her specific policies, as her campaign website is still being built up.
