I am a big fan of Abbreviated Pundit Roundup. It’s one of the things that keeps me coming back. Today’s writer made an assertion, however, that propelled me to write this diary. I first tried a logical rebuttal in a comment. Then I thought I needed to start a new diary all in itself. Maybe put on your flameproof suit and join me below the fold.
The statement was “Mammoth Cave is the best National Park.” or some such. Which got me thinking as to which is my favorite. Obviously, any sane rational person would choose Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island, Maine as a crown jewel of the Park System. Wonderful eco-system, lots of family-oriented outdoorsy activities, friendly locals with an American sub-culture that is unique among the states….. and of course, the scenic vistas are waaaaaay better than Mammoth!
What else would you want?
The national parks are the birthright of every American. We need to support our National Parks and I think they are under assault.
