In what seems to be a sad preview of what we can expect from the MSM as we approach the 2020 election, MSNBC gave us this brilliant analysis of Elizabeth Warren’s New Years instagram post
MSNBC host Hallie Jackson argued on Wednesday that Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was trying to be “relatable” to young people in her potential run for president because she drank a beer from her own kitchen.
On her Wednesday show, Jackson parsed a recent talk that Warren gave on Instagram.
“It seems like she’s trying to be relatable,” Jackson observed. “Right? But that’s kind of backfiring for some of the ‘youngs’ [because of] moments like this in Warren’s live stream.”
In a shot taken from Warren’s Instagram video, the Massachusetts senator announces, “I’m going to get me a beer.”
“Her supporters liked what they saw,” Jackson admitted. “Her critics hated what they called pandering to millennials.”
OK so trying to be “relatable” is now something to criticize. I guess it can be argued that this is just some cable news talking head needing to fill a segment with some content. In fact I think she even contradicts herself by saying that at the same time it was backfiring, her supporters liked it? But the critics found something to criticize oh my?
But if this is the quality of coverage we have to look forward to as the 2020 election approaches, we are doomed
The MSM was enamored with Trump during the entire 2016 campaign.
Are they so incapable of focusing on anything of substance? I applaud Warren for trying to get past their shallowness and acknowledge social media as a campaign tool.
But if the best the media can do is criticize having a beer, while Donald Trump destroys democracy and the planet, I fear for our future.
