Even though I always seemed to have lost pieces to it...even though I could never get the dang thing to stay up sturdy, my favorite board game a a child had to be Mouse Trap.
I did like a lot of other games… Monopoly...Scrabble….Operation...Clue… ...Connect Four...but for some reason Mouse Trap was the one that I always reached for. I have to say, though, that the game Connect Four, from its commercial, gave me a line that I still use to this day… “Pretty sneaky, sis”
RaveReviews has a decent enough ranking of their view of the top 30 board games of all time. I have found that often, such lists, discount the past for the current time. Sure I play some modern games, but hey… I grew up in the 70s and early 80s playing these games…. they are what I remember, so I tried to find a list that included games from the past as well as the current time.
How about you? What was your favorite board game that you played, as a youngster?
