Happy 2019, dear Daily Kos Community! We’ve made It through another year, and begun this one with control of the House, the most representative Congress in history, and an energized progressive base that’s more motivated than ever to get the country back on track, even as the incumbent Individual-1 tries to burn it all down. 2020 is closer than ever, which is, of course, how time works, but change is here, and more is on the horizon. Doom looms ahead as well, of course, but still, new year, new hopes.
And, of course, we’re back with our Community picks of the week. I must say, I’ve really enjoyed learning more about y’all—and your journeys here at Daily Kos—through your generous responses to my nosy queries in the final weeks of 2018, so I’m selfishly going to keep on poking around.
When asked about my work by family and friends this holiday season, I haven’t been able to stop bragging about the millions raised for progressive candidates this past election cycle, and the hundreds of thousands donated to help counter Republican suppression of the Native American vote in North Dakota. It’s just amazing what’s possible when we come together with a common goal—and I can’t wait to see what the Daily Kos Community achieves as we race toward an election cycle that promises to finally turn my hair grey.
With that in mind, I offer you this query, dearest ones: What Daily Kos Community action has stuck with you the most? It doesn’t have to be something huge, like the rapid fundraising for North Dakota Native Vote this past autumn. It doesn’t have to be something with impact on a large scale. I’ve seen what the Community does for each other, so I fairly expect that some of these most meaningful Community achievements might be deeds that resonate and hum on a more personal level. What matters to me is that the Community did it, and that it matters to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Without further delay, let’s dive into this week’s picks!
