First off ….pain sucks.
I’ve had chronic pain in my back the last few years and nothing anyone has done has helped at all.
At first they thought that my hips had very bad necrosis… and they had gotten to a point of surgery. Well, long story short.. although the necrosis has gotten worse the surgeon said that it did not reach the level in which surgery was needed. He then suggested, based on my scans/x-rays he saw I might need back surgery.. so he and my pcp sent me to the back surgeon today.
Going in I expected the worst, but the news is not too too bad. He said (Since I have osteoporosis I never know what to expect) that the pain in the back was not due to anything surgery could fix but was just due to bad osteoarthritis. He agreed I should go to a pain clinic (Which I oddly enough have scheduled to visit for the first time tomorrow) and that he would suggest that I get a pain pump or they up my pain killers or switch them to something else.
So.. no surgery yay, but not sure what they can do for it, Related good news is that the rib fracture is healing.
