Our Arapaho relatives who live on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming told us this morning that because of the shutdown the Arapaho pharmacy and the mental health center have closed. The health center is open with personnel working without pay; I don’t know for sure, but suspect that medical services are limited. I don’t have information about Shoshone services.
Small subsistence checks scheduled to go out to members of both tribes have been stopped as funds are being redirected to essential services. The unemployment rate there is high and loss of even a small amount of money can be devastating.
