Some on this site may know me, most probably don’t (I’m just a peon on this platform. But I love to read the insightful and intelligent postings of others).
Those who know me, know that I am a HUGE Clinton fan. Bill, Hillary, Chelsea, Socks, whoever, I like their brand of governing. I cut my teeth on the 1992 election. I turned 20 that year and I was President of my school’s College Democrats.
I have since moved on to my career as a muddling government and political operator with a Master’s of Public Administration in my back pocket. I am now the Executive Director of a mid-sized nonprofit. (My resume is not that impressive, but I want readers to understand where I am coming from).
I have gone from a low-level campaign worker, to a government communications professional, to a public policy practitioner, to now, big boss man (fish in a pond, what I always say). I am enamored with well crafted public policy. I read academic journals and policy position papers every day, for fun. It’s weird and I’ve stopped boring my wife with the exciting tidbits that I learn. All of this is lay out the reasons that I love me some Clintons.
Here is the breaking news… I’m ok with Sen. Warren as our nominee. I picked Sen. Harris early on, and I still admire her a great deal. But if not her, then Sen. Warren has impressed the hell out of me. Her positions are well thought out, include a healthy dose of implementation, and are all paid for. She has run a spectacular campaign so far, and is well positioned to keep moving forward. I’m impressed.
So, liberals, you have a convert. I’d be proud to vote for Sen. Warren. It came to me in a flash last night as I watched my daughter’s soccer practice. I didn’t know what to do with it. I talked to my wife, she had the same revelation a few weeks ago.
So there you have it. Sen. Warren may be the one to bridge the divide in the Democratic Party. Let’s get on with this thing and win.
(sorry for the post. I don’t post much, just needed to reach out to the peeps I’ve battled on here over the years. No battle this time. I may be on your side. I know, weird, right?)
