Before reading this diary, be sure to read my previous entry “The rotten avocados of the Resistance” in which I gave a condensed outline of the history of Hepzibah Nanna and Team Avocado. This story would be pretty confusing without the background knowledge. In the last few paragraphs I briefly touched on how and why people actually fall for the outrageous claims in her narrative, and why it is so difficult for ex-members and others to convince the avocados that they are being duped. If you read the SJL Councils Blog it’s difficult to fathom how any sane person could believe most of what is claimed. To understand this, one has to first understand two tactics shared by malignant narcissists and cult leaders:
- The Recruitment process. This includes charming the victim, false empathy, “love-bombing”, and giving the victim a sense of purpose/self-worth.
- The Control process. This includes gaslighting, instilling fear, controlling/monitoring communication and smear campaigns against adversaries.
The Recruitment process
Hepzibah always pushes new acquaintances on social media to go private — either in Direct Messages or on the phone. She is very good at cold reading a person: finding their vulnerabilities and triggers and honing in on those. As an “online minister” she soon added her backstory of Ritual Sexual Abuse and being constantly raped and abused. This made it easy for her to build rapport with bona fide abuse victims. In 2013 she expanded her tales of woe to include stage 4 bone cancer and full-blown AIDS, and recently with “the chip implanted in her head by the CIA”.
Once she has established a relationship based on falsely empathizing with the abuse/chronic illness the victim suffers from, out comes the story of actually being on the forefront of the battle against the “cult” (her name for the “BillionairePedoClub”, “TrumpsTraffickingRing”, the CIA etc). By lovebombing her victim (saying that he/she is an amazing person) she cements the relationship, and then goes on to say that the person would be a part of history by joining the fight.
This explains why so many members of Team Avocado are chronically ill and/or disabled. By exploiting their vulnerability, Hepzi makes them believe that they matter and could be helping to bring down Trump and all the real and imaginary pedophiles and child traffickers she tells them about.
Often she enlists help in the recruitment from some of her fake characters. Pretending to be Robert Rothschild, and lately also others from the “fake accounts” section of the Team Avocado: Who’s Who, she validates her story. One fake character that she has used often lately is Michael Cohen. Sending direct messages from the Michael Cohen account she successfully ensnared quite a few former and present avocados. Getting personal messages from Michael Cohen, Erik Prince, Chris Wray, Rod Rosenstein and made-up characters like “Igor Valsyno” boosts the victim’s self-esteem.
The Control process
With more and more people calling her out on her lies and posting links to websites exposing her, Hepzi is often in damage-control mode. To stop possible defections Hepzi uses tactics directly out of any cult’s playbook. She often posts guidelines (read: orders) on how to behave when encountering people questioning and/or calling her out on lies. I’ll dissect one such group communiqué, this one ostensibly written by fake character “N12”. (Anybody who has read anything written by Hepzi would recognise her style immediately)
Thread specifically for #TeamAvocado: there is a group of six people who are smearing TA, these people own multiple accounts. They hack our friends' accounts when a person clicks on a link. Then, their account is completely taken over and the smearers get control of their account.
If you notice, all your ex "friends" who turn on #TeamAvocado, write the same way once they turn. That's because only six people are behind the smears. There is a website on the dark net that is like a chat room. It is devoted to choosing what new smears to use to smear Hepzi, Sharyn, Carla, Igor, KL, and Johnny with, as well as, other members of TA, especially Council members. They spend all day every day posting your newest tweets and sharing what they can make up this time. They use their six-man "troll army" to hijack your tweets and harass anybody listening to your posts. They are being paid per smear and have five billionaires paying them daily.
This is obviously written to discredit anyone who questions Hepzi’s narrative, or warns people who seem to be on the verge of being ensnared. As an added bonus this also instills a sense of hatred and “us-against-them” mentality in the Team Avocado members, bolstering group solidarity.
When detractors really get under Hepzi’s skin, she launches full-blown smear campaigns against them. The first of these was directed primarily at Rachel. Soon after another blog followed, “exposing” Johnny. Then came a response to the OffTheReservation blog. As most people warning others about Hepzi post links to Rachel’s bog, a new smear campaign was launched against her, recently edited to include more allegations about Johnny and also about Tracie: It’s Time to Talk About Rachel Azarra. Most recently was the vicious attack on Jeanne, a former Team Avocado member.
The common denominator in all of the above smear campaigns is the sloppy research and uncorroborated proof provided to all claims. Most of the claims make no sense whatsoever, and the “proof” provided proves nothing. The Team Avocado members seem to believe every word, though.
This is why I urge TA not to talk to the smearers. You can block them and report them...you can even SS their harassment. But don't engage. Even if you see somebody falling for their shit, just privately message the person explaining the situation.
As Hepzi’s narrative is flimsy at best, she hates it when Team Avocado members engage with the anti-TA brigade. Logical arguments against her narrative can easily bring down the entire house of cards, so she constantly exhorts Team Avocado members to block anyone speaking out against her.
Some people whom were friends with TA, no longer have access to their twitter accounts. When a person clicks a malicious link, their account is taken over and the person loses access to their account. The billionaires, who are funding most of this, are using a special high-tech virus to take complete control of accounts. Then, they take control of a person's IP address to keep a person from opening a new account. Most people dont know how to change their IP address so they just give up. Lastly, they will often try to text people but the hackers, run by Guccifer's hacking group, reroute phone calls and texts, then spoof the numbers to make it look like that person is saying cruel things. Often, people have reached out to other TA members after their accounts have been taken over to tell them their accounts were hijacked, only to get bullied from what appears to be #TeamAvocado people ...but it's not. It's the hackers.
By instilling fear in Team Avocado members, Hepzi tries to minimize the risk of them clicking on links to Rachel’s blog or other websites that expose Hepzi as a fraud.
Lastly, anybody sho debates with a smearer is adding money to their smearers' pocket, so TA and Council supporters, stop talking to them. You are only giving them more money. Every time you defend your stance to a smearer, you are adding money to their bank account.
Having discredited the “smearers” as depraved mercenaries, Hepzi reinforces the notion that engaging with them is detrimental to the Team Avocado cause, and benefits only the “smearers”.
From discussions with previous Team Avocado members it also becomes apparent that the level of control verges on the paranoid. Team Members are discouraged from having one-on-one private conversations (the reason given being that they could have been hacked and a member might be talking to a spy, thereby endangering everyone). All communication has to take place in the group chat where core members are present to monitor.
Cult tactics
All of the techniques described above display an eerie resemblance to cultism. The recent documentaries and television series exposing the inner workings of Scientology show the exact same tactics — members discouraged from having one-on-one conversations, discouraged from reading news/websites about Scientology, smear campaigns and the “Fair Game” policy against detractors. And because they have seen how defectors are treated, they think twice about leaving when they do open their eyes.
