Update #2: fixing some spelling, and apologies to our NJ compatriots. My bad :)
UPDATE: Added a link, with text, from Insider NJ website.
This is developing, and I may update as I find information.
But the DC Tribune is reporting that an unnamed (as yet in that article) US lawmaker has filed papers asking to have Barr’s license revoked.
Another source indicates that Bill Pascrell, of Paterson, NJ, is the Congressman who has filed the complaint. A copy of his letter can be read here (scroll down to the bottom of the page). I’ll post a better link in the comments if I can find one. In the meantime, the bones of the complaint are as follows.
In Pascrell’s own words, on twitter:
William Barr is aiding and abetting trump’s constitutional crime spree. Barr should be impeached, but also face professional sanctions for his attacks on the rule of law. Today I filed complaints w/ the DC and VA bars calling for Barr’s law license to be revoked.
From Paterson, NJ’s “Insidernj.com” website:
Letters to DC, Virginia bar associations highlight rampant professional misconduct violations by U.S. Attorney General
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today wrote separately to the District of Columbia and Virginia state bar associations on the conduct of Attorney General William Barr. Pascrell’s complaints allege rampant violations by Barr of the D.C. and Virginia bar Rules of Professional Conduct and urge the two bodies to impose strong sanctions of Barr’s legal status in the nation’s capital and the commonwealth of Virginia.
Pascrell’s complaint is dated October 3, 2019, and written on Congressional letterhead to the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, Board of Professional Responsibility, D. C. Court of Appeals. In it, he begins by citing what he believes are Barr’s significant violations of relevant clauses in the D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct for licensed Attorneys. He begins to offer specifics, beginning with the statement that “[i]n less than a year in office, the compendium of Mr. Barr’s bad acts in office is staggering.” it goes downhill from there.
I recommend reading the whole letter should brighten up your day, it did mine!
