First of all… is anyone else of a dual mind about steroids? I know I would not be here typing today without them,… at the same time I gained 200 pounds due to them and have developed osteoporosis and diabetes because of them.
Due to my osteo I have developed a bunch of problems in my knees, hips and back. I go into the hospital in November for back surgery…. and thus my question.
It is very odd for a guy under the age of 50 to develop osteo...I was diagnosed with it at the age of 40 or so. I have several bone density tests and although it is not getting worse of course it is not getting better.
I was already supposed to have spinal surgery, albeit minor, to reattached the leads to my spinal stimulator that came loose and have to be reattached. However before I could have that surgery I had a CT scan and it revealed a fracture in my spine that is new and needs cement to fix as well.
So, after that long story to explain where i am now, I have a question. Do you or someone you know have/had osteo? Did they have to have surgery at any time to fix a fracture? What was the result of the surgery, positive or negative?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
