All of my images except the one above have the revolver held incorrectly. A commenter noted this and I managed fix it.
When I heard this discussed on Rachel Maddow last night I felt anger and frustration.
..... brace yourselves for the argument Trump’s personal attorney busted out in court on Wednesday, which is that the president has the right to literally shoot someone and go about his day like nothing happened.
Pressed by Judge Denny Chin about the claim of “temporary presidential immunity,” and the hypothetical Trump made while running for office—that he could “stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody” and not “lose any voters”—attorney William Consovoy argued that yes, that sort of thing would fall under the concept laid out by the founding fathers.
“Local authorities couldn’t investigate? They couldn’t do anything about it?” Chin asked, adding, “Nothing could be done? That is your position?”
“That is correct,” Consovoy answered, emphasizing that of course such immunity for killing someone in broad daylight would only apply while Trump is in office.
Other things happened during the hearing, but just so it doesn’t get lost in the details, let‘s just stress at this time that the president’s personal lawyer told a federal judge that Donald Trump can shoot random pedestrians and avoid prosecution until moving out of the White House. www.vanityfair.com/...
Not everyone has someone to talk to when we need to express our feelings about Trump.
Writing therapy helps whether we write for something online, or to each other.
I also recommend art therapy whether you can draw or not when you either have nobody to talk to about your frustrations or anger. Because I figured out how to make basic but serviceable photoshops I can put mine on Daily Kos, Twitter and Facebook. But when you have an idea you can make into a picture or cartoon I'd say go for it. Use a piece of paper or an iPad and electronic pencil. I use two inexpensive programs, InPixio and BeFunky. For the image below, once I put the hand holding the revolver in Trump's hand and added the smoke (ironically it isn't a metaphorical smoking gun because that means evidence that implicates a criminal) I had to choose between ways to render it using BeFunky. For example, it could have been darker. I ended up using the color cartoonized version of the actual photos.
Because I use Twitter I made two versions. This was from last night. I tweeted it to Rachel Maddow.
Here’s what I put on this morning using two hashtags which others are also using:
What I wrote in the above tweet is my basic point. There are two definitions of a smoking gun. The literal one is rarely used. The legalistic one is a metaphor and obviously means incontrovertible evidence usually of a crime but sometimes used in medicine and science.
How I did it:
These are some of the steps I used to make the photoshop. The street scene to the left and right on the tweets happened to be a photo I took of Edinbrough which was on my screen saver. (You have to make images into a rectangle so Twitter shows them in their entirety.) I used BeFunky to add a cartoon effect to the entire image.
I often make images to illustrate my Daily Kos stories, for example:
Last but not least, this features a cartoonized version of me in Hell with a background of Little Harbor Beach in Wareham (MA), our favorite place in the world.
