I work for a Fortune 50 company. So we just got an email that our insurance company is being changed from United Healthcare to Aetna. I go to check if our doctors are in network, and none of mine are. It seems that NONE of the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians doctors are in network. That means I have to get A WHOLE NEW SET OF PHYSICIANS since all of mine were JHCP -- which was by design, because JHCP uses the Epic EMRS so they all had access to all of my medical info at their fingertips. I have been with JHCP doctors for probably 15 years.
UPDATE: I forgot to add, used to be out-of-network physicians were partially covered, but as of last year, out of network physicians were not covered at all.
Not to mention, if you quit your job or get fired or laid off, bye bye health insurance.
So whenever any asshole tells you, oh, single payer means you won't get to keep your physician, or that employer sponsored health insurance is SOOO great, you can tell them to go fuck themselves. WE NEED SINGLE PAYER!!!
