Kamala is all of the former. She has the skill set — the integrity, courage, brilliance, caring, and determination — this country desperately needs. She’s doing as she always has — fighting for Justice, Hope, Courage, Integrity, and Redemption for all of us.
She’s fighting for the soul of this country, for the best in us. I love the coalition she’s building, from Republican farmers to rappers to everyone in between. It is a thing of beauty, courage, grace, hope, and far from the BS going on.
There is no patience left for entitled cowards, faulty assumptions, and far too much privileged fragility passing itself off as “woke.”
And don’t even get me going on the misogynoir that’s running through MSM and everywhere else like some damn sewer.
But here’s the thing. In spite of all that crap, in spite of even my cynical self, Kamala inspires me. She gives me hope for a better day, a day where we rise and are a better people. And oh, we desperately need to know that we can do that. That this country can redeem itself.
I’ve lived long enough, seen enough, been disappointed enough in my fellow Americans, to know what a hard fight it is going to be to make that happen. Know the forces arrayed against us are many and endemic.
But Kamala still calls to our better selves, inspires, and gives hope. It’s a balancing act right now for me — torn between utter disgust and faith. This country is revealing itself and much of it is not pretty.
I wanted to do a fun diary, a Halloween diary, but there’s too much going on that has me sitting on my hands, biting my tongue. I’m not supporting candidates who don’t begin to measure up to the times we find ourselves in, no matter how MSM tries to anoint one of them. And I’m not giving any respect to candidate supporters who have not done due diligence or had the integrity to understand why a record on civil rights, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, environmental justice, etc, matters. I’m not supporting candidates who do not stand up and do the right thing as Kamala has repeatedly done. Don’t ask me to support your candidate when they can’t be bothered to stand up against a phony “award” and Trump using an HBCU for a photo op. Don’t ask me to support a candidate who didn’t have the guts to call out the blatant double standard and abuse directed at Rep. Katie Hill.
We don’t have time for cowards. Not in the age of Trump. And that is the point, isn’t it? Who can take him on? Who can clean out the corruption that has poisoned our government and country? Who has the skill set hard won by years of fighting to make justice real? To lift people up and make redemption possible? And if all of that isn’t the point, what the hell is?
Y'all want answers without asking questions, knowledge without doing research, and grace when you dump all that wrong into the public sphere. Sometimes you'll get it, sometimes you won't. But the only person who can control how often you find yourself in this situation, is you. — Ashley C. Ford.
If you haven’t seen these or other examples of Kamala’s deep commitment to our people — to justice, hope, and fairness, to lifting people up — don’t start dissing Kamala or her record because you have not bothered to educate yourself. There’s too much on the line for such a willful lack of fairness.
Kamala was one of only three Democratic Candidates who cared enough to show up. Kamala’s portion of the Justice Votes Town Hall begins at 1:45:00
That is the President this country desperately needs to have. Lets get it done.

Group Guidelines
The Kamala2020 community group has been created to positively support Senator Kamala Harris, and not to engage in negativity towards other Democrats running in the 2020 primaries.
All should be made to feel welcomed here. What’s not welcomed here is petty bickering over any of our preferred candidates, or personal attacks on fellow Democrats. We’re not responsible for the actions of others who may offend, insult or attempt to sow discord and disunity — that’s on them.
What we are responsible for are our own words and actions — that’s 100% on us.
I’d like to ask all group members, as well as those dropping by who support or are interested in Kamala’s bid for the nomination, that we not respond to negativity from other campaign’s supporters with even more negativity. Let’s do better than our best and respond with respect, humor or try to hold our peace. Recipes and cat pics work, too 😃
Doing no harm costs us nothing... pie-fights will cost us everything.
You didn’t think I was going to let Halloween Eve go by, did you? :) A Blessed Sandhain to all.
