Trump thinks if he breaks Laws in public — it makes him immune to prosecution.
With Bill Barr looking the other way, and a band of lawless sycophants willing to cover-up his misdeeds — he just may be right.
One question for Trump-enablers though: Why even bother to cover-up Trump’s attempts at extortion and requests for foreign interference in OUR Elections — when he’s just doing to end up doing it all PUBLICLY anyways?
That kind of seems like a waste of a ‘good Cover-up’, doesn’t it?
TRUMP PUBLICLY ASKING CHINA TO INVESTIGATE BIDEN IS 'STILL ILLEGAL' AND 'STILL A CRIME,' WATERGATE PROSECUTOR SAYS
Alexandra Hutzler, Newsweek -- Oct 3, 2019
President Donald Trump has encouraged another foreign country to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter, this time publicly calling on China to look into the 2020 Democratic frontrunner—a move legal experts say is "still illegal."
[...]
The president has accused Hunter Biden of using a 2013 trip to China with his father, who was then serving as vice president, to get $1.5 billion from the country for a private equity fund. Despite his claims, Trump has not shared any evidence of wrongdoing.

Former Watergate prosecutor Nick Akerman told Newsweek that asking China to intervene is Trump's "new defense" against the impeachment inquiry but that the strategy is likely to backfire.
"As usual, Trump thinks if he asks for the investigation in public there is nothing wrong with the ask," Akerman said. "Whether in public with the Chinese or in private with Ukraine ... his actions are still illegal and still amount to a crime."
Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe told Newsweek that Trump is "proceeding on the premise that he can get away with murder if he commits it often enough and in front of everybody. It's a daring strategy and one we can't let him pull off if we care about our country and want to have a legal system that applies to everyone."
Hmmm, where have I seen this brazen above-the-law behavior before?
Oh I remember, back when I was quite young — the day I was shocked out of my political-innocence by this:
Nixon replied: "Well, when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal."[24]
That was one ‘woke day’ let me tell you.

Now back to the story ... of the currently occurring presidential heist, already in progress.
Trump Just Did It Out in the Open
Facing impeachment over his secret request that Ukraine investigate the Bidens, the president appealed to China to do the same.
David A. Graham, Staff writer at The Atlantic -- Oct 3, 2019
[...]
Unprompted, Trump requested that another foreign power inject itself into the election by investigating a political opponent. The suggestion is even more shocking because of the country involved. Unlike Ukraine, which is largely a client state of Western governments, China has been repeatedly described by Trump as an important rival and even an adversary. (He did, however, raise eyebrows with a tweet this week celebrating the advent of Communist China.)
But just as Trump offered a quid pro quo to Zelensky, China has something to gain by currying favor with Trump. Beijing is embroiled in a trade war with the United States that has throttled the Chinese economy. Talks between the two governments have stalled. “I have a lot of options on China, but if they don’t do what we want, we have tremendous power,” Trump said a half minute before making the investigation request.

Just as Russia is a major intelligence adversary of the United States, China is already engaged in a massive spying operation against the U.S. Trump has been clear-eyed about the scale and cost of Chinese espionage against American companies. Yet, by inviting an investigation into the Bidens, Trump implies that he’s extending a free pass, as he did with Russia three years ago.
The U.S. government does sometimes ask foreign governments for assistance in criminal investigations. But that’s not what’s happening here. Trump isn’t requesting that China (or Ukraine) assist an existing FBI investigation. He’s asking it to open its own investigation, which would hurt a political opponent. And crucially, he’s doing so without ever actually lodging any accusation of criminal behavior.
This ‘just fabricate a case against them’ M.O. — and WE will Convict them (and throw away the key) — reminds me of another shocking moment, during my formative years …
Only in Trump’s America, could a president actually get away with, conjuring up false charges against someone, and PUBLICLY convicting them as Guilty — without so much as a ‘common courtesy’ of holding an open and public trial (… or a US-backed investigation.)
You know kind of like, what the American Constitution guarantees.
Hmmm, I guess Trump’s Constitution has a whole other set of rules — like the one that let’s him get away whatever the president feels like doing today … ala the Richard Nixon playbook:
...
“Exactly.”

And there’s this Law being broken as well:
