Here’s the latest news today out of Georgia courtesy of Survey USA’s latest poll:
40% of Georgians likely to vote in the November 2020 general election for US Senator say they are certain to back incumbent Republican David Perdue, according to research conducted by SurveyUSA exclusively for WXIA-TV in Atlanta. 37% of likely general-election voters say they are certain to vote for Purdue's Democratic opponent, whoever he or she may be. Just 14% say they need to know the name of the Democrat who will be on the ballot opposing Perdue before they can make up their mind.
Perdue holds 86% of his Republican base, 82% of those who say they are "very conservative," 73% of those who say they are "conservative." The unnamed (so-called "generic") Democrat wins 2:1 among moderates, wins 14:1 among liberals and wins 20:1 among those who identify as "very liberal." Democrats break 79% to 4% for whichever Democrat wins the Democratic primary; independents break 27% to 22% for the incumbent Republican Perdue.
Perdue leads by 3:1 among white Georgians. The Democrat leads 9:1 among African Americans and 2:1 among Hispanic Americans.
Perdue carries Northwest GA, Southern GA, and Coastal GA, but the Democrat carried greater Atlanta by 15 points.

Georgia is going to be another big state in this upcoming election because Trump’s approvals are down and practically all of the Democratic Presidential candidates are either slightly beating him or tied with him in the Peach State. We are also waiting on who Governor Brian Kemp (R. GA) will appoint to take over retiring U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson’s (R. GA) seat which could indicate which Democrats jump into that race. Right now, Matt Lieberman (D. GA), son of former U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman (I. CT), is the only announced Democrat in the special election. But in the election for Perdue’s seat, we have some top-notch quality candidates. Click below to donate and get involved with the Democratic candidate you support:
