This email was not well formatted because I had to send it in one of those forms through his website, but here it is just as I sent it just now:
Dear Rep. Van Drew:
I am a resident of Upper Deerfield and am a registered Democrat. I know that you were one of two representatives to oppose commencement of the impeachment inquiry, and I have read that you are likely to vote against impeachment. If that is correct, I implore you to reconsider. I know the politics of our district. I know there is quite a bit of support for the President here. I know that Donald Trump won this district by five points in 2016. I know that this district re-elected your Republican predecessor, Rep. LoBiondo, every two years from the Republican Revolution of ‘94 through the 2016 election. But I do not think it was coincidence that Rep. LoBiondo chose to retire during last year’s “blue wave,” and I do not believe that it was the desire of the people who elected you that you be among the President’s biggest Democratic supporters in the House of Representatives. I think this district is a moderate district. No one wants you leading the charge for impeachment or on the vanguard of any liberal issues, but I think a big part of the reason you were elected was to help provide a check on this President. The president stands accused of an extraordinary abuse of power, and that accusation is supported by overwhelming evidence. Republicans seem to be pretty united in refusing to hold him accountable. Please do not be one of a handful of Democrats to give them bipartisan cover for their dereliction of duty. I am not sure which course of action is more advantageous to you, but I urge you to look to the example of Rep. Justin Amash, a very conservative Republican who was drummed out of his party and will likely lose reelection because he stood up for principle and called for the impeachment of this President. Voting for impeachment certainly won’t get you drummed out of the Democratic Party and I don’t believe it will do any particular harm to your reelection prospects. Please, do the right thing, stand up for our constitution, and vote to impeach this President. Thank you, Sean Wright
