So, I have been relatively laid up over the past 6 months or so. Had surgery on October 24th to deal with a chronic health issue I have been dealing with for decades. 6 weeks into recovery from surgery, things seem t be going well, I am pretty excited by the results so far. The reality is, it will take a year to know if this is a permanent solution to the problem, but better is better and I will take that either way.
One of the things it has allowed me to do is watch a bit of political coverage in the mornings. Over that time, I know from my deeper interest in politics in general that there are lots of Democratic candidates on various “Tours.”
I bet most of MSNBC viewers have never heard of Bernie Sanders “Worker Appreciation Tour” of New Hampshire he began in the last week or so though.
Elizabeth Warren toured through Georgia Kamala Harris took her For the People campaign on a bus tour through Iowa. Pete Buttigieg did a multi-day Bus Tour through Iowa as well. I doubt MSNBC viewers had any idea those tours occurred though.
Joe Biden, on the other hand, has had at least 8-minute blocks covering his “no malarkey” bus tour on every single show this morning anyway. I also find it interesting that even Joe Biden ignores mentioning Bernie while going after Warren and Buttigieg. I imagine the MSNBC centrist front runner campaign consultants told the Biden campaign that is he mentioned Bernie they would have to report that, and they really would prefer not to be forced into letting their viewers know Bernie still exists.
I mean, no other campaign has had a dedicated day of blocks talking about the launch of one of their various state tours, so Biden s getting a big corporate boost here. Not on the scale of the boost they gave Trump in 2016 for sure, but far more than they do for other Democratic candidates.
