For countries that use the Gregorian calendar, Tuesday night, December 31, 2019 people will usher in the dawn of the new year 2020. Here in the US, the biggest public celebration includes the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the dropping of the ball in Times Square.
As usual the ritualistic celebration on New Year’s Eve is a special time because it creates a sense of change not just in the calendar but also for the expectations for things to be better. Individually, some will act on this sense by making resolutions to change something for the better.
If there is a New Year that should be special it is 2020. The sheer number 2020 conjures up a sense of mystique. The magic of 2020 is even expressed with our clarity of vision (20/20 vision) and in numerology. In numerology 2020 is said to be an Angel number, which are sequences of numbers that carry divine guidance by referring to specific numerological meanings.
His unpresidential behavior manifested in his antagonistic tweets, scandal ridden administration, and controversial policies seems to have left the country divided rather than united.
Whether you believe in numerology or not, you will get the sense that the year 2020 will be one in which significant events are likely to occur and change the course of history. The prelude of these changes has already occurred in America’s politics and in Europe with Brexit. The stage is therefore well set for 2020 to be an eventful year of more controversy, chaos, and conflicts although America and the rest of the world don’t seems too concerned about this.
So why is no one hyped up about the Angel number 2020? The simple answer is that we have too much crazy things going on in the world to worry about Angel numbers and doomsday prediction from psychics like Jeanne Dixon and Nostradamus who is said have predicted the end of the world in 2020. Yes, Trumpian politics have invaded the air space to pollute the environment and its illusion have create some kind of hypnotic spell.
Trump and his administration have been embroiled in controversy after controversy from day one of his presidency. His unpresidential behavior manifested in his antagonistic tweets, scandal ridden administration, and controversial policies seems to have left the country divided rather than united. In his first term as president, he has transformed American politics from what was a paragon of democracy to what looks like an authoritarian government. Consequently, America’s politics has been relegated to the politics of a Third World country or countries that some Americans like to refer to as a banana republic.
Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, ran on the slogan “Make America Great Again.” That slogan has been immortalized with the acronym MAGA emblazoned on caps. Contrary to what his supporters might believe and MAGA, Trump’s presidency has done more harm to America. This conclusion is in part based on his “bromance” with Putin. Americans really don’t know what he has said or promised to Putin as the official transcripts of their conversations have been kept secret.
Will the Republican controlled senate shake off Trump’s hypnotic spell and remove him from office or will voters..
So far, Donald Trump like the mythical Learnean hydra has survived scandals and controversies that would have gotten any other president removed from office. Like the hydra that grew back two more heads for every head someone cut off, Trump has overcome all the bad things that he has been accused of. And although he has been impeached by the House, the indications are the senate is not going to remove him from office.
With Trump being omnipresent with his unpresidential, controversial, and scandalous behavior, America can expect this pattern to continue for 2020. Sorry to be pessimistic, but 2020 will see political shenanigans exceeding those of 2019. We will just have to cope with him for 2020 unless the senate trial comes up soon and by some miracle removes him for office (a long, long shot). The other option which is a better odd of removing him from office will be if the millions of American voters do so at the ballot box in November.
Trump has given Americans plenty of opportunity to see how he is not making America great again. Unfortunately, his supporters are not seeing that Trump’s relationship with Putin is like the moth flying too close to the flame. The Trumpian politics and shenanigans will reach a climax in 2020 with Trump facing the litmus test for his presidential survival. Will the Republican controlled senate shake off Trump’s hypnotic spell and remove him from office or will voters let him hit the road in November? If neither happens then 2020 will have set the stage for the erosion of Americas democracy to continue.
Regardless of the political events that unfold in 2020, my wish is that Americans will wake up and see the illusion for what it is. May the angels bring blessed and peaceful 2020 to all.
