In 1988, the Upper Swan Valley Historical Society was established in Condon, Montana. The goal was to discover, collect, preserve, and interpret materials relating to Montana’s Swan River Valley. Today the Swan Valley Historical Society has displays relating to the area history. The museum grounds include several historic buildings which have been moved to the moved to the museum and contain period exhibits.
In 1918 or 1919, Bill Deegan built this cabin for his mother-in-law, Mary Ann McKenzie Whalen. The porch was added at a later date.
