Donald Trump is a notorious germophobe. And his favorite teevee show is Fox & Friends. But this weekend, the show’s co-host Pete Hegseth claimed he never washes his hands because “germs are not a real thing.”
Whoa. Something’s gotta give.
From RawStory:
Following a commercial break, Fox & Friends co-host Jedediah Bila revealed that Hegseth had been munching on day-old pizza that was left on the set.
“Pizza Hut lasts for a long time,” Hegseth replied, defending himself. “My 2019 resolution is to say things on air that I say off air. I don’t think I’ve washed my hands for 10 years. Really, I don’t really wash my hands ever.”
“I inoculate myself,” he continued. “Germs are not a real thing. I can’t see them. Therefore, they’re not real.”
Okay, they were all laughing — and I doubt Hegseth really thinks germs don’t exist — but the part about not washing his hands? Oh, yeah. That seemed real.
Now, this was the weekend Fox & Friends team, and I don’t know if they’re de facto White House advisers like Doocy, Kilmeade, and Earhardt. Trump might spend his Sunday mornings sacrificing goats for all I know. But if he was watching, this could skeev him out big-league. Maybe it will even prompt him to eschew F&F for real intelligence briefings! Hey, Pete Hegseth’s feculent hog hooves may have just saved the republic!
We can dream anyway.
