It seems quite clear that people now alive will see the tropical regions of the Earth become uninhabitable; look at Australia already. Where will the people living in the tropics go? There are over 400 million people in the Middle East now. India alone has well over a billion people, and their number is increasing rap[idly. Will the countries of the temperate zones, dealing with their own serious climate change problems, absorb them? It is impossible. There will be a complete societal breakdown, an unimaginably cruel dystopia. The creatures who share this planet with us, already endangered, will be exterminated.

reviewed in yesterday's New York Times

I could present an argument, quoting from this excellent review, but it's better to read it yourself. It's not long.
When thinking about NYT pieces, I like to go to the comments and look at those most recced by NYT readers.
