I am continuing to go to my treatment center and to move forward in my substance abuse rehabilitation. Several health issues have returned or worsened. I have asked my counselor to set up several appointments with the treatment center doctor. He has forgotten to do so each time (going back to the end of last year). I found a solution. I am going to another counselor in the facility and verifying that the appointment is set up. I did this when I put in my request to increase my take home days (how many days they give me medication for that I can take home) from two days to four and it worked. So, on Thursday, when I return to the treatment center (I had take two take homes on Monday), I will go to the same new counselor and request an appointment with the treatment center doctor.
I need to see that doctor to address my symptoms and to start my reduction. I continue to apply for jobs and to tutor. I may start a new part time job as a security guard on Saturday. However, several of my students did not meet with me this past week (one lost her job, another the student is celebrating her birthday, and the third already felt prepared for his test). This was serious lost income for me. While I continue to apply for jobs, my symptoms are hindering me greatly. First, the severe vomiting has returned. Second, I cannot sleep for more than two hours straight and I am consistently having nightmares. Third, I am sweating profusely. These symptoms are making me ineffective when I have interviews and making it difficult for me when I am trying to apply. I feel like I am going to vomit now. The lost money really hurt me. I need to go to the doctor, but I do not have enough money to go to see my regular doctor. In addition, it was money I needed to buy more groceries.
By going to my regular doctor right away, he should be able to help me with some of my symptoms and improve them. That will help me feel better and do better in getting another full-time job. I should be able to meet with my treatment center doctor within the next two weeks. I will ask him to also address these symptoms and to help me start my reduction. I need to be off of my replacement medication within three months.
These symptoms that I am experiencing are really awful. It is not certain that I will start the security guard work Saturday, but there is a good chance. It originated because of my work with a student. The parent has been impressed with me and sees the improvement in the student and how much I care about the student and owns the company. At worst, it should be just a matter of time even if this Saturday turns out not to be my first day. Moreover, even though this is likely to only be part time, that part time work plus my tutoring should allow me to pay my bills until I get a full time job. However, I have to improve my health to get and retain a full time job. So, going to the doctor now can help me start that sooner and reduce those symptoms. I will still make certain that I get an appointment absolutely as soon as possible with the doctor because I see him as the best way to improve those symptoms and I need to reduce the replacement medication. Moreover, it could be that these symptoms are side effects of the replacement medication. Therefore, it could well be that reduction will help the symptoms. The problems is that my body is used to the replacement medication now and so to reduce it too quickly is to generate new health consequences. I think that dropping 3 mg a week for 11 weeks (I am taking 32 mg now) will not be so much that the reduction causes really severe side effects. That reduction could start improve things on its own.
First, I do need to see my regular doctor until I get in with my treatment center doctor. And I cannot afford it. I need help to be able to afford it and recover from my lost income. I would be grateful for any help. My paypal email address is robertallenproctor4@gmail.com. My goal is $300 which will help me pay for the doctor’s visit (no insurance) , prescriptions, and groceries. Thank you so much !!
