As we all know, the NASA Mars Rover Opportunity (also known lovingly as Oppy) and its mission to Mars ended this week after a long 15-year successful mission. All attempts to contact and revive it had failed since June 10, 2018, when it hunkered down when a planet-wide dust storm blanketed Mars and blocked out sunlight.
We covered the news and tributes to it in a diary on Wednesday. Here are a few more emotional and artistic tributes to the spirited rover. No more words needed.
Let’s hope we get to meet Oppy in the near future.
And let’s keep working to make our tax dollars advance science, not build stupid walls.
