We’ve heard Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the poor woman who can’t decide on a single last name, continually accuse the media of being the ‘enemy of the people.’
Now, while Trump rally-goers and sycophants, Kim Jong Un, and many, many others of their ilk applaud those these pejorative accusations, one wonders how those folks would react if the media had the character and the courage to ignore Trump . . . the one thing he could never stand.
Kellyanne Conway hinted on CNN that Special Counsel Robert Mueller might never file a report on his investigation and, even if he does, Conway implied for whatever baseless reason that the report might never be made public.
What if . . . Chris Cuomo responded to Conway’s hint and implication by saying, “Not believable, Kellyanne. Come back when you commit to tell the truth. Good-bye.”
Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tried to use a ‘doctored video’ to publicly accuse CNN’s Jim Acosta, one of Trump’s ‘enemies of the people’, of assaulting an intern who grabbed a microphone from Acosta’s hand when Acosta dared to challenge Trump in a press conference.
What if . . . the media refused to cover another Huckabee-Sanders press conference unless and until she publicly apologizes and commits to never again lie to the American people?
Trump started name-calling as he denied a New York Times report that he attempted to coerce then-acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker into assigning recused Trump friend and ally U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman to handle the New York Southern District’s investigation into Trump’s shenanigans with Michael Cohen.
What if . . . the New York Times and every other major newspaper refused to publish anything about Trump and his administration unless and until Trump stopped lying about news reports?
Moreover, what if . . . the next time Trump held a rally, and he started ranting about ‘enemies of the people,’ every member of the media got up and walked out?
What if?
