The Miami Herald reports that Federal Prosecutors led by Trump’s Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta broke the law. We need to pause and remind that ourselves years before the #MeToo movement Trump wasn’t just sleazy he was almost certainly at least as much of a sexual abuser as Roy Moore. He even bragged about it. Jeffrey Epstein was his mentor and partner in ‘crime’. Trump’s appointed rewarded Secretary of Labor is part of yet another conspiracy to thwart justice which is now beginning to unravel.
The 66-year-old mogul (Epstein) lured scores of teenage girls from troubled homes — some as young as 13 — as part of a cult-like scheme to sexually abuse them by offering them money to give him massages and promising some of them he would send them to college or help them find careers
After Eleven years of delay justice is finally beginning to be being served in the outrageous plea bargain agreement granted to Trump’s pal and mentor in the modeling and beauty contest business Jeffrey Epstein.
This was a civil suit not a criminal trial. The women who filed suit will now be able to negotiate for damages and a wider hearing of their grievances. However this ruling does not vacate the plea agreement but since there is no statute of limitations on sex trafficking, criminal charges may finally be revisited and the investigation widened to involve Epstein’s associates who have thus far been protected. Presumably this would include Associate#1.
A second lawsuit, known as the federal Crime Victims' Rights suit, is pending in Florida which seeks to invalidate the non-prosecution agreement and aims to finally send Epstein to federal prison.
One alleged victim, Virginia Roberts, says she was 16-years-old and working at Trump's Mar-a-Largo resort as a spa locker room attendant. (Emp. Added)
She was lured by an associate of Epstein's, and then groomed to give massages, but to then sexually pleasure them and others.
'It started with one and it trickled into two and so on,' Roberts told the Herald. 'And before you know it, I'm being lent out to politicians and academics and royalty.' Daily Mail
It doesn’t appear that it is technically necessary to invalidate the plea agreement. The DOJ has been pushed to reopen the case before and has refused. Hopefully the finding that the prosecutors broke the law will end the ongoing obstruction.
The Miami Herald-Feb 21, 2019
“Federal prosecutors, under former Miami U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta, broke the law (emp added) when they concealed a plea agreement from more than 30 underage victims who had been sexually abused by wealthy New York hedge fund manager Jeffrey Epstein, a federal judge ruled Thursday. While the decision marks a victory for crime victims, the federal judge, Kenneth A. Marra, stopped short of overturning Epstein’s plea deal, or issuing an order resolving the case. He instead gave federal prosecutors 15 days to confer with Epstein’s victims and their attorneys to come up with a settlement. The victims did not seek money or damages as part of the suit. It’s not clear whether the victims, now in their late 20s and early 30s, can, as part of the settlement, demand that the government prosecute Epstein. But others are calling on the Justice Department to take a new look at the case in the wake of the judge’s ruling.” Miami Herald
Epstein was Trump's mentor in the Trump Modeling Agency and the beauty contest business where he bragged about waltzing through the dressing rooms because he could. If you will remember one was the Miss Teen USA contest. (Creepy at the least.) Even more importantly the link between Trump, Mar-a-Largo and Epstein has long since been reported. Also often named as associates of Epstein are Bill Clinton, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Prince Andrew and others.

Democrats want answers:
Ruling says team led by now-U.S. Labor Secretary Alex Acosta violated the victims' rights by not informing them of the plea agreement. NBC
It is unclear if a Congressional investigation has actually begun although the Acosta issue has been reported for a week or so. If not this story will no doubt push it to the top. Congress can only investigate so many things at once. So many crimes so little time.

Also see the book: Filthy Rich by James Patterson. Patterson goes into a lot of detail about the Trump/Epstein relationship. That’s an Amazon link. I read it from the library last year.
