Twice a month, we vote on our favorite Democratic presidential primary hopeful. It’s early! Numbers will (presumably) shift around quite a bit as we try various candidates on for size, and as new names get thrown into the ring. The first two polls have thus far garnered tens of thousands of responses.
I’ve been experimenting with keeping the list of names manageable, relegating the lowest-performing names to make room for new ones. Well, today, two relegated candidates return—Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker—on account of their presidential announcements. We’ll see if their rollouts have given them any boost. I’m also expanding the list of names by one to nine to give Amy Klobuchar space, making her first appearance in the poll. If there’s a reason, I can probably push it to 10 candidates. Tulsi Gabbard gets a well-deserved boot.
As noted before, we have an embarrassment of riches to pick from. I’ve got my preferences and I haven’t been shy about it, but we’re going to be in good shape in November 2020—of that I have no doubt. Now vote!
