I don’t think it is Biden’s turn.
Why?
Primarily because in January 2021 Joe Biden will be 78 years old. But then there was Biden’s recent claim to be the most progressive candidate running. I just about spit my coffee on the keyboard when I read that one. That brings up Biden’s penchant for telling an audience what they want to hear.
Biden voted for the Defense of Marriage Act.
"In the 1990s, the Biden Crime Bill added 100,000 cops to America's streets. As a result, murder and violent crime rates went down eight years in a row." ~ Joe Biden 11/2007
How did PolitiFact react to that audacious claim? Call the exaggeration police!
That brings us to another of Joe Biden’s stumbling blocks. He is a miserable campaigner. In 2007 his campaign had trouble drawing crowds for Biden’s long winded speeches. He finished 5th in Iowa and dropped out of the running.
Then there’s Biden’s lack of filters. True the present occupant of the White House makes Biden’s problem look minor by comparison. But the New York Times wrote that Biden's "weak filters make him capable of blurting out pretty much anything".
In 1960 it was Nixon’s turn
In 1968 it was Humphrey’s’ turn.
In 1984 it was Mondale’s turn
In 1996 it was Dole’s turn.
In 2000 it was Gore turn.
