What is going on with comment policing? I am told I am breaking a rule and must acknowledge it to proceed. Since the comment is a small lesson in history of vaccines (I used to analyze vaccine side effect data) and the comment contains no pejoratives that I can see — it must be that my comment is being deleted for some other reason. How can I acknowledge a sin when it is not identified and my accusers remain faceless?
Then a sneaking paranoia makes me wonder: is the real sin that someone thinks I am spreading a conspiracy theory? But the history of mercury use in vaccines is factual, and not a “theory”. So to give dKOS police the benefit of a doubt, their problem is that they cannot read and like to use the “block commenter” button. But they are not enhancing the discussion.
It is time for dKOS to turn off comments, or police the police, or something. It is turning into mind-policing and bubble thinking. I do not even dare bring up political topics anymore, for fear that I am going to be criticized, blocked, or insulted. Have fun you guys. The fact is: your comment policy causes distress and has become an echo chamber aligned with very specific political opinions. This is not a marketplace for ideas anymore. It only serves to perpetuate tribalism and, maybe, it is time to stop it.
