They’re back at it. This needs to be stopped. From Politico:
The House will vote Thursday on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism, an indirect rebuke of controversial comments by Rep. Ilhan Omar that has inflamed the Democratic Caucus and which party leaders are eager to put behind them.
From the New York Times:
The resolution’s text states, “whether from the political right, center, or left, bigotry, discrimination, oppression, racism, and imputations of dual loyalty threaten American democracy and have no place in American political discourse.”
(Emphasis mine) Listen. If this was the right move, wouldn’t you think the Dems would have thought about it for at least 24 hours? Nope. Again, from the New York Times yesterday:
WASHINGTON — The Latest on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism (all times local):
5:15 p.m.
House Democrats have postponed indefinitely a vote on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism after a contentious meeting in which some new members confronted leaders over their push to rebuke Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
(Emphasis mine) This was apparently done without discussing or showing the new draft resolution to senior members of the Congressional Black Caucus, which had been instrumental in securing the indefinite postponement yesterday:
Enough of this chauvinistic, paternalistic, Muslim bating, Islamophobic double standard.
Call your Congressperson, wait until their staffer answers, and then say it with me: ILHAN OMAR IS NOT AN ANTI-SEMITE, VOTE NO ON THIS FARCE OF A RESOLUTION!

Update: Omar has voted in favor of the resolution. Which I interpret as some serious shade. She has been silent about it until this point. To then turn around and vote for it to me reads as the perfect Fuck You to the House leadership for letting this take up so much of our time. It was aimed at condemning her without mentioning her by name. She voted for it anyway, but has not offered an apology for those remarks. Keep the donations going her way, she is a diamond in the rough.
