23 Republicans vote no on House resolution condemning anti-Semitism and other forms of hate

The House today passed a resolution condemning anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry by a 407-23 margin. All votes in opposition were from Republicans.

Though the resolution was drafted after a furor erupted over comments on Israel from Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, Omar is not singled out the resolution, and voted for it along with all other Democrats. It condemns anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim, and other forms of hate speech, noting especially the multiple recent acts of mass violence by white supremacists, the persistence of longstanding anti-Semitic tropes and myths in our discourse, and violence against numerous American mosques.

The Republicans voting against the measure included Reps. Liz Cheney, Peter King, Paul Gosar, and Louie Gohmert, who delivered a furious speech before the vote denouncing the anti-hate resolution as too broad.
