TODAY IN CONGRESS (C-SPAN TV SCHEDULE):
I am posting the daily C-Span TV schedule, when I can, for those here who may be interested in tuning in to see what Congress is up to. Also, I have provided the results of yesterday’s votes on some significant Bills/Resolutions when Congress was in session the previous day.
Here’s today’s schedule with the events I think may be the most interesting in bold. You can watch C-Span HERE.
House:
12:00 pm – House Morning Session (General Speeches)
2:00 pm — House Session (Members will consider several bills under suspension of the rules in the afternoon.)
Senate:
3:00 pm — Senate Session (The Senate continues work on a disaster relief bill; a procedural vote is expected at 5:30pm ET.)
Yesterday’s Voting Results:
House: None, Not in Session.
Senate: None, Not in Session.

Today’s Events –
House – It’s a Monday in the House, meaning things start late and not much gets done. Not sure what Bills will get votes today, but since C-Span has not specified any, it’s pretty likely that none our significant.
Senate — Today the Senate will resume debate on the Emergency Disaster Relief Spending Bill. According to Today’s Senate Calendar, the deadline for filing Amendments to the Bill will be 4:00 pm, and the cloture vote on the Bill as well as on a previous Amendment from Senator Shelby (R-Alabama), are planned for 5:30 pm.
Not sure what’s going on with the $$$ for Puerto Rico that Democrats were trying to get added to this Bill. Not sure if the added PR $$$ got added under a previous amendment I missed, if it is among the amendments to be filed, or if Dems. have decided to wave the white flag and bring it up as a separate bill later. We will have to watch the procedural vote on the bill at 5:30 pm to see if Senate Democrats prevent Republicans from getting the 60 votes needed to end debate. If they do, it is a sure sign that adequate money for Puerto Rico is not in the Bill and Dems. are still trying to get it included. If Democrats vote for cloture in significant numbers, it will probably mean that the PR $$$ is in the bill or they have an agreement with McConnell to allow a separate PR Relief Bill to come to the floor. Anyone who knows more about the current status of the money for Puerto Rican disaster relief, please chime in under the comments.

Doctor Who
UPDATE: Looks like Dems. will try to block cloture on the Disaster Relief Bill today at 5:30 pm in an attempt to try to get Republicans to back inclusion of adequate funding for Puerto Rican Relief, according to Laura Clawson's Post. So I guess that answers my previous question. Fingers crossed that Schumer has at least 41 Senate Dems. willing to vote “no” to force McConnell’s hand.
