Political Wire just conducted a poll of presidential preference which was open only Political Wire subscribers. There were two conclusions:
1. 45% of Political Wire subscribers expect Joe Biden to win the nomination, while Kamala Harris polls at 28%.
“Our April straw poll finds 45% of Political Wire members think that Joe Biden will win the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, followed by Kamala Harris at 28%, Bernie Sanders at 10%, Pete Buttigieg at 9% and Beto O’Rourke at 5%….No other candidate gets more than 4%.”
2. However, Pete Buttigieg, with 37% of the vote, is a runaway favorite as the preferred candidate of Political Wire subscribers, while Kamala Harris pulls 18%, and Biden receives 13%.
“However, when it comes to personal preferences for who Political Wire members want to win, the race looks like a runaway for a surging Pete Buttigieg. Buttigieg leads the field with 37%, followed by Kamala Harris at 18%, Joe Biden at 13%, Elizabeth Warren at 10% and Beto O’Rourke at 9%.”
And, shockingly, Bernie Sanders is the preferred candidate of only about 3% of the Political Wire poll takers.
So a ton of people are starting to pay serious attention to Buttigieg’s thoughtful, Midwestern-oriented campaign. www.rutlandherald.com/...
