Good morning, Newdists, and happy Easter!
Personally, I haven’t cared about Easter since I attended a Catholic college—and then, I only cared about it because we got something like a week off. Truthfully, I didn’t even remember that it was going to be Easter until students started emailing me last week asking if we had class on Saturday (sadly, we did). Easter, for me, is just an excuse to eat chocolate. In the spirit of Easter (and because I felt a little bad about having class), I took my students an Easter basket full of Lindt truffles. I tried my damndest to exercise restraint—really, I did. But at the end of class, there were still several truffles left. I still had some things to do before I could leave the classroom, so I thought, “I’ll just eat a few of these truffles.” Thirty minutes later…
Needless to say, no chocolate for me today.
Do you celebrate Easter? What are your Easter traditions? What else, other than Jesus rising, would you like to chat about this morning?
All are welcome to join the fun, the silliness, the conversations. If you don’t know...just ask! Some things really do require a bit of explanation.
There will be a few surprises along the way, all good ones, we hope.
We are here to keep building the Daily Kos Community.
We post Mon-Sun at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. On Sunday we go to the C!U!A! posting to show support for all the work being done to promote Democratic candidates/causes. Please to join us there, as well.
Pie fights will be met with outrageous ridicule and insults. Trolls will be incinerated and served at the next group BBQ. As briquettes.
