Joe Biden has entered the Democratic Presidential primary as the putative front-runner, if polls mean anything at this time.
Biden has been a figure in national politics since he became a Senator in 1973, which is a very long time.
It is therefore natural that some of the thousands of positions he has taken over this time would be seen in retrospect as ill conceived or wrong. (Bussing, Crime Bill, handling of Anita Hill, Iraq War, etc.)
The question is when is it appropriate to offer those criticisms, and when is it simply providing ammunition to the Republicans in the general.
This is not one of those cases.
