Hello folks. My mind is definitely slipping. I'd like to thank ninkasi23 for reminding me I'd signed up for tonight’s What’s for Dinner column. I’m sorry it’s late in being published.
Tonight was leftover goulash which I used ground turkey and some cheese tortellini. We are finally done with it. I made it last Monday and when I could, I'd have it for supper this past week. Hubby was eating the last of the leftover Easter ham, this past week, so he didn't want any of the goulash. Having the same food for more than several meals gets monotonous. I’m awaiting what I'll fix for tomorrow night's dinner, fried potatoes with spring onions from the garden, carrots, corn and either grilled bratwurst or turkey Italian sausage and sautéed onions and peppers.
I’m hoping to make up some dessert that’ll go well with being topped with pistachio ice cream. I bought some, since it’s my daughter’s favorite and plan on having some tomorrow. Suggestions?
Lately my IBS has been acting up to were I’ve been losing my appetite or feeling awful after eating. It’s been going off and on for the last two weeks but the good news is I’ve lost seven pounds, so far. I think some of it is stress related but I did get a little good news about my mother’s health, she’s doing better with her cancer.
Thursday, I went with a bus load of Master Gardener’s to the bartlettarboretum.com in Belle Plaine and Botantica in Wichita. Found out, you don’t want to try hibiscus tea that isn’t sweetened. Reminded me of pickle juice. The food service forgot to sweeten it.
It was a long and enjoyable day of beautiful weather and we did get to see some interesting plantings. At Botanical, they had purple pansies planted among purple veined cabbage. I want to do that combo in the future.
