Glenn Greenwald just can’t seem to stop doing self-inflicted injury to his shriveling reputation as a pretend journalist completely destroying his credibility over and over again. This pathological tendency of his, which was evident pretty much since he suddenly switched careers from high-priced Manhattan litigation lawyer, to pious muckraking journalist in 2005, intensified by several orders of magnitude when he started opining on the Russiagate scandal with arguments mirroring those of the Trump Administration and Fox News that completely dismissed and scoffed at concerns of Russian hacking and collaboration between Russia and the Trump Campaign, at every step of the way, including every major revelation of facts that confirmed and built said case over the last 3 years.
The latest incident of serious self-inflicted injury began on March 25th when Greenwald went on Democracy Now and Fox News to blatantly lie about the Mueller Report, first of all pretending that he himself had seen what he couldn’t possibly have seen, claiming that Mueller said in a Report that no one outside the Justice Department has yet seen :
...it is absolutely false that Robert Mueller simply said there’s not enough evidence to convict with a reasonable doubt. He said something much, much, much, much more important than that. He said that after 20 months of investigation, with a huge team of FBI agents and prosecutors, heralded as being the most aggressive and skilled in the world, we found no evidence that this happened. That’s what Robert Mueller said.

He then proceeded to falsely smear Rachel Maddow and MSNBC with hysterical groundless accusations that the network engaged in “a complete and total fraud and scam” against their viewers for 3 years, and that this fraud continues with Maddow’s skeptical reporting on the Bill Barr “non-summary” summary of the unseen Mueller Report, and then conjured up the most flimsy and comical rationale for dismissing the idea that career cover-up artist Bill Barr, who was hand-picked by Trump to protect him from the Mueller Investigation, would dare to distort and abuse the conclusions in the Mueller Report when he wrote his “not-a-summary” interpretation of the Mueller Report:
The second point, this idea that, “Oh, we haven’t heard from Robert Mueller yet, we’ve only heard Bill Barr’s summary of him,” yes, that’s true. But Bill Barr has been friends with Robert Mueller for 30 years. They come from the same Republican circles in the Department of Justice. They both worked together at the Bush Justice Department, the Bush 41 Justice Department. All we heard for 20 months is that Robert Mueller is a man of the greatest integrity and patriotism. The idea, the very idea—just think about this—that he would allow Bill Barr to run around making false and misleading distortions about what the Mueller team found, and not one person on the Mueller team, including Bob Mueller himself, would stand up and say, “Wait a minute, he is distorting what our findings was,” that is laughable. That’s exactly the kind of conspiracy theories that led to this entire mess in the first place...
Democracy Now March 25, 2019
So, here we have someone who has built his supposed fearless muckraking journalistic reputation over the last 14 years sanctimoniously going after corrupt and dishonest government officials who would lie and cover up crimes of governments and politicians, who now wants to convince us that this fearless anti-corruption journalist has suddenly suffered a memory lapse regarding Bill Barr’s history as a cover-up tool for scandalous administrations. Apparently the fact that the last time Bill Barr was U.S. Attorney General back in 1992, he was referred to as “Coverup-General Barr” because of his role in burying evidence of then-President George H.W. Bush’s involvement in “Irangate” and “Iran-Contra,” was considered by Glenn Greenwald as immaterial and irrelevant to evaluating the possibility that Bill Barr just might be doing the job for which ultra corrupt and obstruction-of-justice-is-ok-if-I-do-it-in-your-face Trump hired him to do — cover up the Mueller Report.
But no. According to the shrieking buffoon the World’s Most Intrepid Anti-Cover-Up Investigative Journalist in History, anyone who would suggest that Coverup-General Attorney General Barr might be playing fast and loose with the actual not-so-good-for-Trump conclusions of the Mueller Report, are either nutty conspiracy theorists, or purposely perpetrating a total fraud. Now that’s some seriously dangerous and extreme limb-climbing, even for climbing-out-on-a-limb addict Greenwald. Because, surely he had to understand that, no matter how valiantly the Coverup-General held it in his tight-gripped hands and how clever Barr could be with releasing one redacted bs version after another, it was only a matter of time, surely within a few months at the most, that the Mueller Report with Mueller’s actual words, not Greenwald’s make believe version of Mueller’s words, would get out there for the world to see. Is Greenwald really so cocksure and arrogant to stake his credibility on a 100% certainty that the words he put into Mueller’s mouth wouldn’t turn out to haunt him?
Well, looks like that “laughable” moment when that “one person on the Mueller team stood up to say, ‘Wait a minute, he is distorting what our findings was,’” has arrived much faster than I thought it would. From today’s Washington Post — “Limited information Barr has shared about Russia investigation frustrated some on Mueller’s team” :
Members of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s team have told associates they are frustrated with the limited information Attorney General William P. Barr has provided...according to people familiar with the matter.
...
But members of Mueller’s team have complained to close associates that the evidence they gathered on obstruction was alarming and significant. [emphasis added]
“It was much more acute than Barr suggested,” said one person, who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the subject’s sensitivity.
...
Some members of the office were particularly disappointed that Barr did not release summary information the special counsel team had prepared, according to two people familiar with their reactions.
Summaries were prepared for different sections of the report, with a view that they could made public, the official said.

This is only the first drips of inklings of dissatisfaction among the Mueller team of how Barr misrepresented their findings, that will surely be followed by more details of what Barr is trying to hide that is unfavorable to his boss. How much crow will Greenwald have sticking out of his mouth over the following weeks and months, after the full truth of the Mueller Report comes out, causing the long and fragile limb Glenn Greenwald climbed all the way out on to fall, smashing Greenwald into the ground? Will Glenn Greenwald apologize for his reckless buffoonish lies and absurd defense of Trump’s Coverup-General’s attempts to distort the truth of the Trump administration’s corrupt involvement with and cover-up of Russiagate? If someone can point out to me a single instance of Greenwald ever apologizing and admitting he was wrong, I would love to see it. I don’t believe it exists. He still has not managed to eek out a mumbled apology through all the crow stuck in his mouth after hysterically and arrogantly asserting for 2 years straight that “The assertion that Russia could have hacked the DNC servers or meddled in the 2016 election is nothing but an outrageous and fraudulent conspiracy theory by evil deep state spooks who want to bring down Trump, or by Democratic Party cultists who can’t accept that their Hillary Clinton lost the election...it’s all made up bullcrap and anybody who is going along with this narrative should be ashamed of themselves.”
Of course Greenwald will not apologize in this case of being stupendously, obnoxiously, moronically wrong about the Mueller Report. If his increasingly bizarre limb climbing then crashing self-injuries over the last 3 years is any indication, he will simply find even more flimsy limbs to go out on, and become even more shrill and buffoonish in attacking the growing numbers of enemies and former followers, such as myself, who can no longer stomach his shrill unapologetic frauds and scams and smears he keeps perpetrating on the public, aiding and abetting the most serious and ever worsening internal national security threat this country has ever faced. Shameful scam artist is too kind of a description for what Greenwald’s brand of weaponized yellow “journalism” has become. It is much more dangerous and destructive than that.
