President Trump bases his ideas on assumptions and he leans on being reckless and righteous as he pursues his ideas. Trump’s budget FY 2019 proposes to make deep cuts for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

“Nancy Altman, President of Social Security Works, on the numbers of Donald Trump’s FY2020 budget” ‘Donald Trump ran for President on a promise to keep his hands off Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. His latest budget proposal violates that promise yet again by cutting all three programs.
The effects of these cuts would affect senior citizen population. They would be forced to pay out of pocket or depend on family members for financial assistance to help pay for medications. These family members if they are low income or middle-class who are struggling, will be affected by these cuts, resulting in their scrimping to stay afloat on their family budget, will feel the crunch to pay off bills. Bad news for disabled citizens, the budget proposes to cut $25 billion.

Since Trump became President his administration has proposed cuts to these programs. It’s important to see that when he threatens to slash Medicaid funding, it is also an attempt to move away from Medicaid expansion that Obamacare allowed.
So, how do you feel whenever Trump Administration presents budget proposals? We all feel more worried. Reality sets in because families who want to send their children to college will have a difficult time affording to send them to a four year college, many of the children of these families will have to work to go to college, meaning they may be going to college part-time, will remain at home and not go away to college, and will only go to colleges that are public or private offering financial packages. When this starts to happen, then society begins to crumble. We get fewer applicants to four year universities, we increase the percentage of only high school graduates or community college graduates, lowered intellectual abilities so there would be a degree of difference in the representation of younger population in technology, business and engineering and even medical professions.
President Trump doesn’t form a relationship with the American public. He doesn’t hold fireside chats like previous presidents or hold press conferences. He minimizes the press involvement in presidential roles in daily decision making. He doesn’t attend the annual correspondent’s dinner. He only sticks with Fox News. He frequently responds to inquiries from press or the public with responses such as “fake news” or “witchhunt”. He doesn’t take responsibility for his actions or builds relationships with congressional staff and senators who want to see improvement. He hides his tax information. He insists he is right. He also has recruited staff who mimic his way of avoiding questions like Ben Carson did when he was testifying as Secretary of Housing and not attempting to give half an answer to Ayanna Pressley’s questions on NYCHA Housing improvements. I was saddened to watch this display of neglect by him. At one point I agreed with her that Ben Carson should only be Surgeon General. Trump tweets all the time, insults and namecalls.
It is clear we have been through a lot as a country. Democrats who have witnessed Trump’s negligent behavior want to impeach him. There is division among some democratic politicians on whether we should go through the impeachment process. I support impeachment and each day as I see the number of things that are wrong, and the most important evidence such as the Mueller Report, there shouldn’t be hesitancy in proceeding. As a country we need to build momentum and plan to vote for a new, democrat president who will start repairing what this administration has injured or attempted to crush. The only way we can become a stronger country, is having a healthy, educated country and to continuously oversee the important programs and services it needs to prosper.
