Racist rape-joke-teller (oops, I meant “Edgy Politically-Incorrect Comedian”) Bill Maher has once again proved his personality tilts more toward the current right-wing than the left, for all his lip-service to liberal causes and his blustery T***p impression that can’t hold a candle to Trevor Noah’s or Seth Meyers’. Because Bill Maher proved last night he has the right-wing’s selective amnesia about the toxic people they pal around with.
Remember all those photos of right-wing politicians grinning alongside Family Values representative Josh Duggar? Try getting any of those politicians to admit that they were even on the same hemisphere with that now-confessed teen molester of his sisters when the picture was taken.
On last night’s “New Rules” Bill Maher castigated Republicans as the Deadbeat Dad party. And at one point he said “Back when Milo was a thing, Milo called [T***p] President Daddy.” ...You know, like Milo Yannopoulis was just another right-wing hack with no specific reasons for being mentioned except for the Father’s Day-themed NR. And as if Bill Maher had not deliberately invited Milo onto his show during that time when Yannopoulis was “a thing.”
The reason Milo was “a thing” back then was that he’d just been banned from Twitter for his offensive behavior. One of the reasons he’d been banned was because he’d Tweeted lynching photos to black actress Leslie Jones, because she’d been in a movie that angered misogynists like Yannopoulis — a racist assault, on top of his routine misogyny and transphobia. Naturally Maher hailed Milo as a poor downtrodden victim of Political Correctness and had him on his show. ...Just before Milo openly advocated for adults having sex with children, and suddenly he was “Milo who?” to everyone including Maher (who continues to tell racist, misogynistic and rape/molestation jokes).
So go ahead and pretend indignance at Republican malfeasance, Bill. But you did a damn fine impression of all those GOP politicians photographed with Josh Duggar last night.
DOCUMENTATION: Have a small sample of Maher’s racism, homophobia, misogyny and rape-joke telling. (Links to a comment in which I made multiple links to Maher’s show.)
