The Democratic presidential candidates should stage a rebellion from the vapid, meaningless questions to be expected at the debates, and take it over. People will be watching, and this is one of the few chances to get the message out, without the (yes Republican) media filter. Call your favorite, or not so favorite and tell them to ignore, or almost ignore the debate questions.
Examples: Question about the climate crisis: One suggested answer: Yes, this is the most important issue, and we all have plans to deal with it, and will work together to implement these. But we are in an emergency situation. Half the country is burning, most of the other half is flooded, etc. So ask the rest of us if they agree that voting for a Republican will guarantee that the fires, flooding and storms will get worse. Some others might point out that the tornado outbreak was predicted at least two weeks in advance, caused by arctic weather caused by global warming.

Question about anything else: Yes, that is fine, but how can we insure that votes will be counted correctly? The senate is refusing to fund election security, because the Republican leadership wants the elections to be untrustworthy. Should we all call for states to …
Just doing business as usual at the debates will lead to nothing being done on at least the last two issues mentioned above, and if climate deniers in the media can be jolted, it might help.
I wanted to add a tornado damage photo title image, but could not figure out how to do it.
