Nearly three years after he went on live TV and asked Russia to hack Hillary Clinton's emails—which they tried to do five hours later—President @realDonaldTrump issued another appeal to America's adversaries for help winning an election.
During a taped interview with George Stephanopoulos, Trump let it be known that he's willing to accept foreign assistance with his re-election campaign—federal laws against that sort of thing notwithstanding.
Trump's comments were shocking, but hardly surprising—since taking office, he has made it abundantly clear that his own interests greatly outweigh the national interest.
Congressional Republicans reacted swiftly, helping their Democratic colleagues pass legislation that would require campaigns to report foreign contacts to the FBI.
Just kidding... the GOP blocked that legislation from being voted on—and for that, they received the thanks of a grateful president.

Steve Mnuchin's wife, Louise Linton, complained about not receiving the royal treatment.
In the interview, which features a 22,700-square-feet home in the opulent Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air that she calls "Weezy's Castle," Linton said she felt prepared for her new life "in one of the most polarizing administrations ever" amid President Trump's orbit.
"As far as I know, there really isn't a PR firm for people who suddenly become Cabinet spouses, ya know? The partners of ambassadors and congressional spouses get to go to a training camp!"
"Cabinet spouses get nothing. Being married to someone so high up in government, it surprised me that there was no one there to step in, as I'm sure they do, for the first lady or for Meghan Markle or Kate Middleton!"

Trump revealed that Melania's preferred pronoun is "It."
President Donald Trump called into "Fox & Friends" on Friday morning and compared his wife, first lady Melania Trump, to former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Trump made the comparison in response to his decision to change the paint color on Air Force One. The baby blue color Onassis picked in the 1960s will become navy with a red stripe "on the next version of the presidential aircraft due to enter service in 2024," according to The Associated Press.
"You know the baby blue doesn't fit with us. People get used to something, but ... That was Jackie O and that's good, but we have our own Jackie O today, it's called Melania. Melania. We'll call it Melania T," said Trump.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Melania T, you may be entitled to financial compensation.
