(Updated to reflect the fact that I am an idiot who cannot add 3 numbers together accurately)
(Updated yet again to reflect that S is the 19th, and not the 20th letter in the alphabet)
Republicans will be launching a website, WinRed, as a right wing equivalent to ActBlue.
Republicans want to get into the small donor online donation game, because it works for Democrats.
I am suggesting that you donate $1.456 to a large number of candidates on the platform.
This will largely be eaten up by transaction fees and the like, and reduce the effectiveness, and growth, of the platform.
How did I get $0.45? K=11 + O=15 + S=20 19 gives us 45, but if they call you, tell them that it is because you support Trump, President* number 45.
The $1 is the unfortunate consequence of the fact that this appears to be the minimum donation.
When you do, note that you are likely to get calls from the campaigns asking for more money, because (regardless of party) this is what campaigns do.
When they do call, be polite, and sound interested, and KEEP THEM ON THE PHONE FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE while trying to get them to call you back at a later date.
Say things like, “I’m starting a job in 2 weeks, can you contact me next month?”
Doing this will not only force them to expend greater resources than they get from you, but it will also poison the data that they get from WinRed.
The technical term for this is rat-f***ing, and it is done because politics ain’t beanbag.
Use the comments selection below to come up with a better logo for their site, because there have to be Stalin and Mao logos for the name “WinRed”.
