Late June 2019
Hot and getting hotter down here in the Southeast US.
The Daily Bucket is a nature refuge where we amicably discuss animals, weather, climate, soil, plants, waters and note life’s patterns. We invite you to share in the comments what you see in your own part of the world.

well this is an open bucket so have at it, gotta be something cooler than what I have.
This really is the second flowering of this Butterflyweed. You can see the old stubs from flowering the month before. These are new flowerheads on the same old stalks. There were 3 stalks when I found it a decade ago next to the woods, now it has several. The cover photo is one of the offspring, a toddler so to speak.
Speaking of the “2nd Coming” — here’s a Purple Passionvine. I expect a Zebra Longwing or Gulf Fritillary to nibble it to the ground before it ever flowers but everyday till then, it is building strength for next year when it will be reborn.
that’s all folks, see ya in the comments.
