Pelosi still refuses to impeach Trump over his campaign’s ties with Russia, but perhaps she would consider another reason to begin proceedings.
I’ll give you a hint: The New York Times ignored E. Jean Carroll’s revelation that Trump raped her two decades ago. At least for a few days. But now that Jeffrey Epstein has been charged with the sex trafficking of underaged girls, there is a bigger picture emerging.
Trump, Barr, and Dershowitz are all connected to these crimes, either by direct admission through his “denial” (Dershowitz), circumstantial evidence (Trump), or suspicious ties (Barr). Epstein has also apparently paid off witnesses to not testify against him. Sound familiar?
There are now over 20 women who have credibly accused Trump of rape or sexual assault. But it doesn’t stop there:
Just as he has a patten of sexual predation, Trump also seems to have a pattern of threatening victims who come forward. Jane Doe alleged in the lawsuit that Trump told her she shouldn’t ever say anything if she didn’t want to “disappear like Maria,” a 12-year-old girl who had also been abused along with her. Jane Doe dropped the lawsuit in November 2016, days before Trump’s election, after her attorney, Lisa Bloom, cited “numerous threats” against her client.

This GQ article was blogged a few days ago by thenekkidtruth, but the diary got little attention. In fact, the entire subject seems to pop up every so often but then it disappears again:
Perhaps the slow drip of information and accusations against Trump has had a numbing effect on public opinion, and the sexual misconduct has been further buried by the national security crises that seem to be occurring on a weekly basis...But when the puzzle pieces are assembled, the full picture of Trump’s alleged sexual misconduct and the fact that he’s gotten away with it for so long are actually quite shocking at a time when the country is supposed to be reckoning with its own rape culture.
Sex trafficking, sexual assault, rape, extortion, threats. The assembled puzzle pieces not only illuminate Trump’s crimes, but they also suggest an extensive sex-trafficking network involving highly-placed wealthy, entitled men who have protected themselves from exposure for decades through threats and bribery.
If the Mueller report isn’t enough, and if families in cages at the border aren’t enough, maybe Congress and other government agencies can get to work nailing these people to the wall on these crimes. And the people who have been implicated so far are almost certainly just the tip of a very large and ugly iceberg. The whole hideous mess needs to be taken down.
