Hiya venthooligans! I haven’t been around much lately and I’m sorry I missed posting last week. It’s been good times and not so good times. Good: took the whole day yesterday all to myself: no obligations. Went for a long walk via Golden Gate Park to run some errands, just grinning to myself feeling so lucky. It felt good to be walking and the Giants have been winning which makes me ridiculously happy. Without a yard or garden, my front yard for more than 30 years has been the park. It is one of the great urban parks, running from my neighborhood west to the Pacific. The path through the redwood grove smelled so familiar, warm and dry, dusty and faintly fragrant, and I realized what a long time it had been since I walked there.
Bad: It wasn’t due to any gas-saving virtue that I was walking. I rear-ended another car Friday and crumbled up my hood, and my car’s at a body shop. I was so sleep-deprived, I shouldn’t have been driving, I was inattentive and didn't brake in time when the vehicle in front of me stopped as we were accelerating on a freeway entrance. Good: the car I rear-ended was a tow truck and the driver gave me a ride to a body shop where they were super nice. Maybe bad: it didn't occur to me til later that it might have been a scam.
Also bad: my BunBun is not well, poor guy. He now has asthma or something like it and often he gasps for breath. I have been trying to hang out with him more. He still wants to eat and still likes to sit on my lap, but cuddling is too uncomfortable for him most of the time.
