It’s becoming more and more common for Trump to publically spew white supremacist racism. Earlier this month he attacked four congresswomen of color on Twitter, basically telling them to go back to the countries they came from. Three of the lawmakers were born here in America. The other is an American citizen who has lived here since she was a child.
Now, this week, Trump has been launching attacks on black Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD), even going so far as to accuse House Rep. Cummings of racism and saying Cummings is responsible for the visual, racial and social turbulence in Baltimore—something that exists in every major U.S. city.
Yet, only two weeks ago Trump was coddling up to his musician BFF, Kanye West, and wife, pop culture entrepreneur, Kim Kardashian. The couple asked Trump to help their friend rapper A$AP Rocky (Rakim Mayers) who’s in a Swedish jail, awaiting trial for an alleged assault. As Trump was basking in the fact that West and Kardashian wanted his help, and knew they had millions of followers on virtually every major social network platform, it was then Trump told reporters:
“Many, many members of the African American community have called me, friends of mine, and said could you help,” Trump told reporters. “I personally don’t know A$AP Rocky but I can tell you that he has tremendous support from the African American community in this country and when I say African American, I think I can really say from everybody in this country, because we’re all one”.
“….and when I say African American, I think I can really say from everybody in this country because we’re all one”.
I’m not sure what harder to stomach—the fact that he said it or the fact that millions believe it, as well as all of his bullshit and lies. Trump didn’t speed up the process of Mayers getting out of jail. He couldn’t give two shits about the rapper. But when Mayers does get out—Trump will take credit for it. His conniving behavior is grotesque.
It’s incredulous to many of us that this “ illegitimate” president is allowed to continue his term—continue his “rule,” as he sucks up and pounces down, gives to the rich and takes from the poor… But the bottom line is everything Trump does is to benefit Trump. After blowing out racist-based comments for decades, the quote above just might be the perfect example of his own rotten hypocrisy.
