Nancy Pelosi
Speaker of the House
Longworth House Office Building,
15 Independence Ave. SE
Washington, D.C. 20515
Ms. Pelosi:
I just received a letter from you in the mail with an enclosed survey: 2020 Democratic Presidential Strategy Survey. I am writing because there was a place for additional opinions or suggestions. I have enclosed a copy of my survey as well.
According to the U.N. 2019 Climate Action Summit Report, our situation is dire. We no longer have time to take incremental steps to address Climate Change. In order to make the radical change we need to keep us humans off the endangered species list, several things need to be done.
- We must rejoin the Paris Accord and go further.
- We must enact the Green New Deal.
- The first two items cannot happen without more than 100 additional people in the House and Senate just like Reps. Alexandria Occasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.
- Electing the Representatives and Senators will not happen if the DCCC continues to black ball primary challengers.
- Even if we complete the first four items, it will not be sustainable if we don’t end Gerrymandering.
- Ending Gerrymandering is very unlikely if we don’t get big money out of our politics.
- None of the above will be possible if we don’t dramatically raise taxes on the wealthy and big corporations.
- Only when we have accomplished the first 7 items on this list will we be able to move forward on any of the other issues that we face.
Thank you for hearing what I have to say.
Respectfully,
