The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane, Washington, recently hosted a major exhibit: Luminous: Dale Chihuly and the Studio Glass Movement. The exhibit featured the works of 33 major artists. Shown below are some of the vessel forms which were displayed.
According to the display:
“From its earliest appearance in ancient societies, glass has often been used as a vessel, designed to be a container or dish. The vessel form carried into the 20th century and provided a platform for wide artistic experimentation.”
