Good morning, Dkos Khive! The Khive is rising on this Saturday!
Got your coffee? Have mine but it’s not going to be enough. Had my final shingles vaccine yesterday so the arm is sore and comfortable sleeping was hard to find. But this too shall pass.
Kamala held a rally in Denver, Colorado last night. Her first visit to the state and the excitement had people showing up early. Our own rflectammt was there and will be telling us all about it on Monday. Yay!
“Lock him up!”- indeed.
Which leads to this —
Been pondering a few things.
If Russia is targeting her, what does that say about who they least want running against Trump?
Data shows suspicious social-media accounts targeted Kamala Harris, including with conspiracy theories, during both Democratic gatherings
Hundreds of social-media accounts with bot-like traits promoted misinformation and content aimed at inflaming racial divisions during both nights of Democratic presidential debates, continuing similar activity during the first set of debates last month, according to data analyzed by The Wall Street Journal.
The bot-like activity on Tuesday and Wednesday nights was consistent with online discussions around Sen. Kamala Harris’s ethnicity during the first Democratic debate, indicating both Ms. Harris, who is black, and racial issues as key targets for bot-like accounts during the 2020 election campaign…..
In this day and age of misinformation, we’re going to be having to ask ourselves “why” a lot.
Every candidate who is in the top tier is going to come under attack from unprincipled and dangerous RW/Russian sources. They’re going to do everything they can to muddy the waters.
So lets state the obvious upfront.
No one running for the Democratic Nomination is without flaw. Every single one of them has an issue or two that folks can question. None of them and none of us are perfect.
We all know that. We all also know that we’re looking at our favorite candidates in total, choosing them for what, who, and how they are, flaws and all. We’re weighing the good and finding it more than sufficient. We’re getting clear on critique vs smear.
But each of us is also choosing who we think is best to defeat Donald Trump and lead the country with thought, dignity, strength, caring, and integrity.
We need to be able to distinguish between misinformation and good information. We need to stand together against attempts to divide us. We must be aware of the racism and sexism polluting the coverage and responses to this primary campaign.
And then there is this —
Those who do not bother to truly educate themselves on Kamala’s record can’t claim to truly care about Justice Issues. Those who think that Black communities don’t want to live in safe neighborhoods are revealing some, at best, ignorance. Black parents don’t want their daughters raped. Black people don’t want their homes robbed. Black parents don’t want their children being sucked into gangs. Black communities actually do value education, hard work, and safe communities.
…..In most cities, the number of community organizations, church initiatives, youth groups, nonprofits, fraternal organizations, after-school programs, charities, and collectives dedicated to furthering education, reducing crime, and finding alternatives to violence far exceeds the number of organizations like the hated Black Lives Matter. There are far more peace rallies than protest rallies.
For all of 2018, I kept a running tally of community events in Birmingham, Ala. Using an admittedly unscientific method consisting of news stories, Facebook events, Eventbrite invitation, press releases, and Google alerts, I counted 68 unity events, peace marches, stop-the-violence rallies, and community forums.
There were only 14 events related to police brutality or Black Lives Matter…...
So anyone pushing the People of Color hate all cops and won’t vote for Kamala meme needs to sit down. People of color want Justice - fair and equal Justice. And that is what Kamala Harris is fighting for, has always fought for.
Real Justice is not a police force that refuses to be accountable, but is held accountable. Trust does not come without it.
Real Justice is keeping our people safe from mass shootings.
Real Justice is fighting to protect women and holding predators accountable.
Real Justice is feeding and protecting the children.
Justice, real justice, is also health care that is not dependent upon social standing and income.
Real Justice is knowing that we’re all in a fight for our best selves during this inflection point in our country.

H/T rugbymom for this excellent reminder —
If you're thinking of making a (or another) donation, this would be a good time, to keep her momentum going. A couple (or more) of us have, moving the needle on our group effort, but let's push it over that $5,000 mark. She is doing some high-level fundraisers over the next couple of weeks, but that doesn't substitute for all of us, whether you're a $5-at-a-time or $100-at-a-time donor. It all helps, and helps the campaign staff know that we're out here pulling for them.
*Please remember this is a Kamala2020 group effort, & not a Daily Kos sponsored activity or endorsement.

Group Guidelines
The Kamala2020 community group has been created to positively support Senator Kamala Harris, and not to engage in negativity towards other Democrats running in the 2020 primaries.
All should be made to feel welcomed here. What’s not welcomed here is petty bickering over any of our preferred candidates, or personal attacks on fellow Democrats. We’re not responsible for the actions of others who may offend, insult or attempt to sow discord and disunity — that’s on them.
What we are responsible for are our own words and actions — that’s 100% on us.
I’d like to ask all group members, as well as those dropping by who support or are interested in Kamala’s bid for the nomination, that we not respond to negativity from other campaign’s supporters with even more negativity. Let’s do better than our best and respond with respect, humor or try to hold our peace. Recipes and cat pics work, too 😃
Doing no harm costs us nothing... pie-fights will cost us everything.
We can’t forget how important it is to take back the Senate and keep the House. No one’s plans will become real if we don’t.

Ok. A couple things. First of all I put up a post about the misinformation attacks we all need to be aware of, no matter who our candidate is, and all kinds of folks that have never been in a Kamala2020 group post show up. Interesting and something that perhaps the site powers that be may want to take note of.
Secondly, I’ve had a medical test and a shingle’s vaccine this week, both of which have left me sore, without enough sleep, and with minimal patience. So I’m taking nap.
To those of you who actually read the diary and do care about fairness, thank you so much. I’ll try to catch up with all of you.
Much love to the Khive heading out.
